The mission of The College of Westchester Library is to meet the anticipated as well as current informational needs of the College of Westchester community. As a Business Information Center , we provide information resources (both local and global), promote life-long learning, supplement the curriculum, and impart information literacy skills. |
Goals |
| • Provide a variety of business related tools for information research, especially that information which is of immediate relevance and interest to the College of Westchester community |
• Offer accredited curriculum in the area of Library and Information Science to aid in the development of information literacy skills |
| • Develop core collection materials in a variety of educational areas (liberal arts) as well as technical and business oriented |
| • Provide reference assistance, library orientation, and information access training |
| • Provide materials concurrent with the curriculum |
| • Support faculty curriculum research |
| • Provide an inviting atmosphere for study, research, and learning |
Policies and Procedures |
| • Use of the Library facilities is open to members of the College of Westchester community (Students, Faculty, Staff, and Alumni) and WALDO Members. A valid College of Westchester ID is required. |
| • It is strongly recommended that the members of the College of Westchester community obtain a White Plains Public Library Card. It not only provides its members with access to the facilities in White Plains , but allows patrons full use of the Westchester Library System. |
| • Policies and procedures regarding the computer and Internet use in the Library are covered in the "Student Acceptable Use Policy for the Internet" and the "Student Acceptable Use Practices for Information Technology Systems." |
| • Food and/or drink are not permitted in the Library. |
